The Dungeon Synth Phenomena
Written with help from my loving and generous Editor Eugene(Manzanita Skye) R. Speciale
Upon discovery of this Genre I had a totally different idea of what it would be like. When I joined this group on FaceBook, I just thought they would be more open to the possibility of abstract music within the group....but it seems all they are interested in is getting promoted by Disney Music Scouters looking to steal their music on Facebook. There also seems to be more of a focus on depicting things like mystic wizards in the album art rather than actually listening to the music.
I just think this genre is really missing out on the abstract/ambient/witchhouse aesthetic which this genre is an offshoot of. However, because the focus seems almost entirely on album presentation (before people start attacking me, I get it, it helps sell albums)...they are really missing out!
Hopefully I am not put into the gallows of Dungeon Synth Law for saying this, but Dungeon Synth is terrible and this genre really needs help before it is consumed by the internet. Here is an example of a quality dungeon synth album for all who are interested in forming their own opinion on the matter.

If they don't like my review, they can go milk a Dragon. For those who know not what lie in the 'Dungeon Synth' genre you will find Disney-Esque modern classical synth music which I could probably play on a synthesizer with my eyes closed. The album art is cool, custom made cassette cases stunning, however genres need real music first and foremost and this comes from direct music experimentation. Perhaps blending it with more hardcore/industrial/Witchhouse/experimental elements & aspects could save Dungeon Synth at the end of the day
